1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how EduMotion Inc. DBA Rotara SQ ("Rotara SQ," "we," "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on our public website at www.rotarasq.com (the "Website") and in the Rotara SQ application, the signed-in area of that same site (the "App").
Rotara SQ is master scheduling and compliance software used by school district expanded learning departments and after-school program providers. The App is used by adult staff, not by students.
This policy is part of our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

2. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can remember information between page views or visits.
Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a site keep information on your device, such as whether you are signed in.
Pixels and scripts are small pieces of code from a third party that can report what you do on a page back to that third party.
In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these. Some are set by us (first-party). Others would be set by a service we use (third-party). Some last only until you close your browser (session); others stay for a set period (persistent).
3. Cookies We Use
We use only the cookies needed to run Rotara SQ, plus optional analytics on the public Website if you allow it. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Strictly necessary. These keep you signed in, keep the App secure, and remember your cookie choices. The App cannot work without them, so they cannot be turned off.
Functional. These remember settings you choose, such as your selected district, site, or view. They stay on your device and are not shared with anyone.
Analytics (Website only, optional). If you accept, these tell us in aggregate how visitors use the public Website so we can improve it. They never run inside the signed-in App.
Advertising. None.

No analytics cookies are in use today. If we add them, we will list each cookie in this table, including its name, provider, purpose, and duration, before it runs. We will update this table before adding any new cookie.
4. Our Commitments for K-12 Data
Rotara SQ serves school districts and their program providers, so we hold the App to a stricter standard than the law requires of an ordinary website.
No tracking in the App. No analytics, advertising, social media, or session-recording tools run inside the signed-in App.
No advertising, ever. We do not use any information from the App for targeted advertising, to build profiles for non-school purposes, or for sale, consistent with California's Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA).
School official role. When a district shares education records with us, we act under the district's direction as a school official under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and use that information only to provide the service.
Not directed to children. The Website and App are for adult staff. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through cookies or otherwise, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Data agreements. Districts may require a data privacy agreement, such as the California Student Data Privacy Agreement. Where a signed agreement is stricter than this policy, the agreement controls.
5. Your Choices
Cookie banner. On your first visit to the Website, a banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies with equally easy buttons. Optional cookies stay off until you accept. Closing the banner without choosing counts as a rejection. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of every page.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, keep optional cookies off, and show a message confirming the signal was honored.
Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because we already keep advertising and cross-site tracking off, the Website and App behave the same whether or not that signal is sent. We do not allow third parties to collect information about your online activities across other websites through our Website or App.
Browser controls. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you from signing in to the App.
6. California Privacy Rights
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"), and under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA). As they apply to cookies:
No sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months.
Right to opt out. Even so, you can confirm your choice at any time through "Cookie Settings" or by sending a GPC signal, as described in Section 5.
Right to know and delete. You can ask what personal information our cookies have collected about you and ask us to delete it, as described in our Privacy Policy.
No discrimination. We will not deny service, charge a different price, or give a lower quality of service because you exercised these rights.
To make a request, email info@rotarasq.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days.
7. Changes and Contact
We will update this policy when our cookies or the law change. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If we ever add a cookie in a new category, such as analytics inside the App, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before it runs.
